A Thin Places Christmas Show.
–Jim Brickman
"Garrett Viggers' Thin Places Christmas is a show that will keep audiences wanting more. The mix of old and new instruments in a well polished blend of Celtic, Folk and traditional holiday music is refreshing. Add to this a full house of enthusiastic patrons is a must have for our annual holiday concert season."
–Jeff Darling / GM, Cascade Theatre Redding CA
An eclectic and creative Christmas show with a myriad of unique instruments, musical styles and art forms. Instruments include: hammer dulcimer, lap dulcimer, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, cello, violin, harp, accordion, ban-jammer (dulcimer + banjo), guitar, piano, bass, drums and percussion. The arrangements include a mix of instrumental and vocals. The show also includes the Jefferson bagpipers. The name "thin places" is an ancient Celtic term used to describe the veil between this world and the eternal world as being "tissue thin." The show was produced and arranged by Garrett Viggers & Seth Carlson. The media below is from the December 8th, 2010 show at the Cascade Theatre in Redding, CA. We are already booking shows for 2011. Live Art Charity Auction ____________________________
As a part of the show, we had a silent auction for the live paintings on stage during the show. Juan Eddards painted two and Shane Grammer painted one. Right before intermission we showed a video from Drawn From Water, an Ethiopian Orphange. It speaks for itself, and so did the paintings.
We were able to give $2,127 to Drawn From Water from the silent auction proceeds. Click on the pictures below to see the paintings up close.
